5 Benefits of Having a Classy Website

Having a classy website has many direct and indirect benefits. Much like having a great car or a great office creates a certain kind of impression about you, your website is the first place a person gets to know about your company to form a general first impression.

With the change in government in 2014 and a government that has tremendous respect for technology, a website which looks world class will go a long way in creating a big impression on people from both the government and the private sector. Much like a brochure, a website’s ultimate purpose is the same: It should help you make more money. Specifically, here are some reasons you might like to work on your website.
Benefits of a classy website

Website Helps Your Branding

A good website provides information about your company but a great website can create a whole brand identity. With consistent colors and typography in place, a website can go a long way in creating a lasting impression on your visitors.

Retains Viewer’s interest

The more your website is able to retain viewer’s attention, the more your chances of making money improve.  A good website should be the one that not only creates a good first impression but also retains interest of visitors and intrigues them enough to stay on it and further explore what you do.

Call to Action = More customers

Whether you’re an ecommerce store or a multinational MNC which does manufacturing or provides some service, you need “call to action” buttons (Contact us, enquire now, buy now etc) at the right places in all your pages in your website so that whenever a visitor is intrigued enough about you, they don’t have to “search” anywhere to find out how to get in touch with you.

Distinguishing factor

Most of your competitors already have good enough websites with the same kind of copy paste content that can be found everywhere on the internet. A website gives you an opportunity to distinguish yourself from the competition at a fraction of the cost. Remember: A Website is the first place which people use to form some opinion about your company. Investing in it can go a long way in distinguishing yourself from others.

Good Return on investment

By simply creating a world class website, you can save a lot of money in the long term since the website becomes a reusable asset for your company. On the other hand, a bad website can prove to be a liability and may not contribute much to a company’s reputation, (ruining it in some cases). For example, if you run an education institution, a brilliant website (together with other digital infrastructure) can go a long way in attracting talent. To appreciate this, take a look at any world class B School Website and compare with its Indian counterpart. You will easily be able to feel the difference.

In conclusion, investing in a great website is extremely critical to any business irrespective of its size.

I loved this post and I think it s great information to use when starting a new design or revamp of your website. One thing that got my attention was the Above the fold part. With mobile devices dominating the internet traffic nowadays, how relevant above the fold is when the canvas in mobile devices is so limited? Just wondering how this issue can be addressed on mobile devices.
